Trust Yourself
Hi, I’m Alex Norman, MPA, INHC, your new health coach
You are a unique individual and you are solely the expert on your health. As an IIN-certified integrative nutrition health coach, I work with you to help you unblock the wellness path you already know you want, but can’t seem to get.
The key is to trust yourself, which we all know is harder than it sounds, but is essential for your life, health, and happiness.
I became a health coach because I feel how beautiful it is to learn every day to love myself and because I believe everyone deserves to feel that love and to realize possibilities for themselves. So we can all feel free to be our true, aligned selves. My journey also led me to a passion for health and wellness, which is so much more than just diet and exercise. I finally found a calling for my soul that combines possibility and wellness. I hope wherever your journey takes you, you feel love for yourself in your heart and trust that love. I’m here for you.
Thanks for being here.

My journey
I was raised to live up to my father’s expectations, which not surprisingly, I never met. He had lofty ones: a 4.0 GPA, Ivy League college, an MBA, and a six-figure job at a Fortune 500 company. Whew, I’m exhausted just saying all that. He has since passed on and to this day, I am still chasing that ghost.
I ended up in local government making an excellent salary with the potential to make even more. While it wasn’t exactly what he wanted, it was still successful by society’s standards. However, it was never what I wanted. I realized later that it was “my version” of what he wanted for me. I had never been allowed to explore what I wanted. My life was never about me. It was about putting others first and making sure they were happy. And when you never make others happy (because their expectations have nothing to do with you and thus you’ll never meet them), you end up not knowing how to love yourself. I became disconnected from my soul. I was a body doing things and doing them efficiently, effectively, and often perfectly, but nothing more.
I’ve since been working on connecting with my soul and loving myself for all I am, no matter where they fall on the judgment spectrum. My perfectionism, need for control, people pleasing, and so many other behaviors would derail any idea or plan I had leaving me frustrated. I didn’t think I was worthy.
It’s a process and one I will work on every day for the rest of my life, but the greatest act of self-love and self-care I can do for myself is to recognize what I think, feel, know, and trust myself. All the rest can be worked through once you...
